ACI Certifications
The ACI certifications are designed to form a minimum qualification for personnel employed within the concrete construction industry. A brief summary is listed for some common courses provided by Buildact
Quality Concrete and Related Field Practices (ACI concrete field testing Grade I)
It covers the fundamentals of concrete, the required routine tests (temperature, sampling, slump, density, yield, making and curing of concrete specimens, and air content by volumetric and pressure meters) to be checked for freshly mixed concrete.
Duration: 2 days training – 1 day exam
Fundamentals of Aggregates and testing (ACI aggregate testing level 1)
It covers the fundamentals of aggregates and eight standards for sampling, testing and evaluating the aggregates. These tests are being used to determine the acceptance criteria of aggregates and performance of concrete
Duration: 2 days training – 1 day exam
Concrete strength and evaluation (ACI concrete strength testing)
It covers the fundamentals of strength and detailed information about the importance of the preparation of sample. The course includes the analysis of concrete strength versus requirements
Duration: 1 day training – 1 day exam
Concrete Construction Inspector (ACI Special Inspector)
It covers the concrete construction, including plans reading, formwork installation and removal, reinforcements, embedments, sampling and testing freshly mixed concrete, conveying, placing, consolidation, finishing, jointing curing, and protection
Duration: 4 days training – 1 day exam
Soils Properties and Related Laboratory Practices (ACI Aggregate Base testing)
It covers the fundamentals of soils and nine standards for sampling, preparing, testing and evaluating soils. These tests are being used in the classification of soils for engineering purposes
Duration: 2 days training – 1 day exam
